Have you ever had an idea that you were dying to share, but you just couldn’t find the right way to express it to inspire shared vision?
If so, you aren’t alone. This is a universal problem that cuts far deeper than most dare admit. It cannot be solved through simple communication skills training. To solve it, we must retrain our brains and mouths to follow our hearts.
Easier said than done, right? I wrote a fun story packed with five powerful secrets that will help you mend this inner rift and awaken your visionary leadership potential. If you can spare a few minutes, please relax and enjoy the experience.
Once upon a time a mad scientist cracked the code on time itself.
In this moment, time stood still for him... and it never started back up again.
Seeing its own logic, his concept-addled brain abruptly stopped believing in time and his heart opened wide to the infinity of now.
This was an exhilarating experience!
But there was one huge drawback:
He soon came to realize that he was a self-absorbed prick.
Words couldn't describe the bliss that came from this shift--nor the frustration he experienced when trying to share his big breakthrough with others.
The harder he tried to make people understand, the more they resisted...The more they resisted, the harder he tried to make them understand.
After countless cycles trying to shove his discovery down peoples' throats, the data of first-hand experience forced him to one firm scientific conclusion:
Despite the love in his heart, he was pitifully incompetent at being loving with other people.
How could he bridge the gap? Could his new time map somehow fix this?
Pondering these questions, a light bulb went off.
"I’ll turn this equation into a book!" He declared. "A book that helps people access their timeless nature to bridge heaven and earth doing what they love! Then everyone will finally know that I love them!”
So with otherworldly inspiration and a deep yearning for redemption, he rolled up his sleeves and started writing...
Two years later he was still writing, but with nothing to show for it but thousands of worthless pages and a life in shambles.
His marriage had ended. His savings had dried up. He’d gained 20 pounds and started chain smoking. Everyone thought he’d lost his marbles, and he was starting to wonder if maybe they were right.
He’d become a lonely wanderer, spending his life in coffee shops and late night IHOPs, staring at his laptop trying to find a way to get this book onto the blank page.
Then one day a bright idea burbled up … “What if I take a break from writing and use this discovery to make myself a better person?”
At this, he designed a six-step process to dissolve the habitual thought patterns that kept him from feeling fully present, happy and alive. He gave it a try… it worked!
When he used this tool, he immediately reconnected with the love that inspired his mission. There were also some great fringe benefits! For example, after using this tool to shift his inner state the world outside would shift in turn, bending over backwards to help him along, bringing effortless opportunities that pulled him forward.
How could this be? It was trippy and awesome, this new “inside out” pragmatism! So he kept at it, curious to see what might happen next.
Turns out, the happier he felt inside, the more kind and generous he became. Seeing others struggle, he no longer tried to fix them or educate them. Now he’d mostly just listen. If he felt a happy inner nudge, he’d offer them the tool to try for themselves.
Before he knew it, the tool had developed a fan club! Happy people throughout his life were using it to generate profound “inside-out” breakthroughs of their own.
Inspired by these wins, he turned this 6 step hour-long process into a 6 day cycle as part of a 12 week inner game mastery course. He convinced a beta group of executives to join the adventure, and soon they were off to the races.
The results were staggering!
Right out of the gates, an otherworldly influx of creative energy started pouring through the group. By week 4, this process had induced the group to experience the exact same time-shift that had blown his mind years before. For the first time since the discovery, he felt that same awesome energy unfiltered -- only now he felt it with others and in the service of a higher purpose that included everyone.
The physics of the process was unfathomable. Something in the radically aligned group energy opened some invisible quantum portal to a more loving and abundant world! He didn't understand it, but so what? He just kept doing his best to keep the flow going, creating new tools when helpful to ground the group. As they enjoyed the ride, week after week, a happy wormhole swallowed the group, joining minds, healing lives and lifting everyone to a state of shared reverence.
When the course was over, the participants' lives had changed. But perhaps the biggest change of all was in the inner life of this once-struggling scientist.
The feelings of oneness he felt serving this group gave him a new reference point for knowing his true nature. With the lens of perception cleansed through this process, he finally saw the inner cause of his crisis.
The writer’s block, his divorce, and communication breakdowns— these were just a smoke screen, delay tactics his brain conjured to keep him trapped in time stress.
It was never that people misunderstood him, or that he was truly unloving.
The problem was that he’d been using people as guinea pigs to test his ideas. He’d been more interested in being understood than being understanding.
No one would care to listen unless they knew that he cared about them more than his ideas. How could he ever have missed this?!
Seeing this, he was wracked with guilt and regret. All those years wasted, trapped in his brain, struggling to connect through concepts! All the people he’d unwittingly rejected by failing to honor their presence and listen—truly listen—with a gentle open heart.
Never again! He made up his mind right then to fix it.
His heart knew what he must do to complete his mission. He listened closely as this mysterious organ offered him five secrets of visionary engagement:
Secret #1. Release your reputation. He'd need to lose all concern with his reputation and release the need to control other people’s perceptions of him.
Secret #2: Trust inspiration. He'd need to stop writing from his brain and keep his heart open to let the “larger him” speak through him.
Secret #3: Make it actionable. He'd need to make inspired stories and practical tools the focus of the book, instead of boring people with abstract intellectual concepts.
Secret #4: Eat your own dog food. He'd need to practice what he preached, using the same tools he was sharing with others to keep himself aligned inside.
Secret #5: Give without conditions. Ultimately, he'd need to be willing to give his love to the world freely and fully -- even if this meant enduring endless rejection.
The path was clear and the stakes were set. So he set his jaw and gave it his all.
For the next two years life would become even more disruptive at times, but filled with boundless inspiration and an almost imperturbable sense of inner peace.
When he sat down to write, words now flowed through him like rushing river rapids. As he kept doing his best, day-after day, gradually his heart-mind rift healed. Two years later, a wonderfully unconventional book had written itself through him.
And today, I'm happy to say, this mad scientist isn’t mad. In fact, he’s happier than ever because his hard won opus has finally been released.
You see, I am that mad scientist and the Voice Code is the name of the discovery that inspired this journey. Everything you just read happened to me as I struggled to turn this equation into my new book "The Voice Code: Master Your Inner Game”
In this 400-page dragon slaying adventure you’ll find most of the tools I invented to climb through this wormhole—including the original 6-step tool which helped reverse my downward spiral. It’s called the CREATE script, and I can’t wait for you to try it!
What can I say? It is a beautiful book that trains your brain to follow your heart. It offers a common sense, yet radically unconventional inside-out paradigm that helps you become one with that “larger you” in your everyday life. It’s the book I was always searching for, but never seemed to find. I’m certain that if you give yourself to the material, it will change your life as it has many others.
I say this not to brag or to sell you anything. I say this from the heart, in a spirit of humble gratitude to that mysterious “wormhole” that joins us, and to the countless brave-hearted cohorts who helped me bring this project to completion.
As we cross the finish line, I felt moved to share my story so that you might know more about me and the journey that birthed this book. I also hope this story offers some helpful take home lessons that stand on their own merits.
The principles that propelled my journey are universal. In today's polarized and politicized world, couldn’t we all benefit by teaching our brains and mouths to honor our heart’s knowing?
I’ve come to believe that this is the only true path to thriving. I’m deeply honored that I have something exciting to offer those who aspire to thrive from the inside out, doing what they love.
